ADM-ZPS Antimicrobial and Anti-Mold Agent
ADM-ZPS is a water-based antimicrobial and anti-mold agent designed for plastics, latex, artificial leather, coatings, and textiles. It helps prevent material degradation, discoloration, and surface growth caused by bacteria, mold, yeast, and algae. The product is free of arsenic and tin, contains no organic solvents or VOCs, and offers durable, wash-resistant protection. It also helps prevent odors caused by microbial growth, keeping treated materials fresh and hygienic.

Key Performance Benefits
- Broad-spectrum activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, mold, yeast, and algae.
- Helps prevent odors caused by microbial growth, keeping textiles and finished products fresh and hygienic.
- Free of arsenic and tin; water-based, no organic solvents, no VOCs, no unpleasant odor.
- No bioaccumulation; does not cause persistent environmental pollution.
- Compatible with most textile and coating auxiliaries (e.g., fluorocarbons, adhesives, softeners).
- Heat resistant up to 220°C.
- Skin-safe under normal use conditions.
Recommended Addition Level
Addition levels are based on the total weight of the final product or the dry weight of the fabric, depending on the application.
| Application |
Recommended Addition Level |
| Polyurethane |
0.3 – 1.0% |
| Latex |
0.3 – 1.0% |
| Coatings |
0.3 – 1.0% |
| Textiles (based on dry fabric weight) |
0.60 – 1.50% |
Processing Guidelines
- Working solution preparation: Add water first, then add wetting agent under stirring, followed by other chemicals such as adhesives (e.g., PBA). Finally, add the undiluted ADM-ZPS slowly under stirring and mix until the entire working solution is uniform. Prepared solutions should be used the same day.
- Dyeing process: Can be added in the same bath as the dye. Add ADM-ZPS last before the dyeing process, then proceed with heating, dyeing, reduction clearing, dehydration, drying, and setting.
- Padding process: Prepare the padding concentration according to the actual wet pick-up. The working solution performs best under slightly acidic conditions. Curing temperature: 145–180°C for 90–45 seconds.
- Coating process: Can be mixed with coating adhesives and applied by knife coating. Pre-test the effect on viscosity. Concentration should be determined based on the dry weight of the coated fabric.
- Spraying process: Dilute before spraying and ensure sufficient penetration. Test the dispersion on the customer's equipment to confirm suitability. Avoid contamination from room sprays and comply with local health regulations.
The required concentration depends on several factors, including the sensitivity of the system to microbial degradation, the extent of microbial invasion, the type of microorganisms, pH, temperature, humidity, and the required protection period.
Storage & Packaging
- Shelf life: 24 months in original packaging.
- Storage: Store at room temperature, protected from light, sealed, and moisture-proof. Do not expose to freezing. Temperature should not exceed 50°C.
- Note: Long-term storage may cause slight separation. Stir to restore the original state.
- Packaging: 25 kg/drum.
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of microorganisms does ADM-ZPS protect against?
ADM-ZPS is effective against a broad spectrum of microorganisms, including Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, mold, yeast, and algae. It helps prevent material degradation, discoloration, and the development of unpleasant odors.
Is ADM-ZPS safe for skin contact?
The concentrated commercial product may irritate eyes and skin, so proper protective equipment should be used during handling. Treated finished products show excellent skin tolerance, and the active ingredient is also suitable for cosmetic applications.
How should ADM-ZPS be added to textiles?
ADM-ZPS can be applied by dyeing, padding, coating, or spraying. For padding, the working solution should be slightly acidic and cured at 145–180°C for 90–45 seconds. For dyeing, it can be added in the same bath, preferably last before the dyeing process.
What is the recommended addition level?
For polyurethane, latex, and coatings, the recommended level is 0.3–1.0% based on total weight. For textiles, it is 0.60–1.50% based on dry fabric weight. Actual dosage should be confirmed through small-scale testing.
How should ADM-ZPS be stored?
Store in original packaging at room temperature, protected from light, sealed, and moisture-proof. Do not freeze. Shelf life is 24 months. Slight separation may occur over time; stir before use.
